Welcome to Africa's longest shower
Victoria Falls
discovered: on 11/16/1855
from Dr. David Livingstone
Length: about 1708m
Height of the waterfall: about 108m
Height above sea level: about 960m
healthynity: year-round malaria area
best travel times: February to March (then the Zambezi carries most of the water) then up to 10,000 m³ of water fall into the only 50m wide gorge in one second
Nature: Due to the constant, rising spray mist, a rainforest has developed in the immediate vicinity, which would not exist without the waterfall. This rising nebula is up to 300 meters high on some days and can be seen from about 20 km away. The local Kololo call this "thundering smoke" "Mosi-oa-Tunya"
Important note: Protect your cameras and mobile phones!
It's getting really wet! Like taking a shower!

Miscellaneous: In honor the then British Queen, David Livingstone called the natural spectacle "Victoria Falls"
The waterfalls have been a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 1989.

Our tour schedule:
1 day Flight from Dar es Salaam to Livingstone. The flight time depends on the airline and takes about 7 to 10 hours. Our vehicle is already waiting at the airport and will take us to the Ngoma Zanga Lodge for the night.
2 day After our breakfast we drive from the hotel to the Victoria Falls in about 20 to 30 minutes. Arriving at the entrance gate, we will receive a brief introduction to the Victoria Falls. We then take a walk from the entrance gate to the falls. On the Zambian side, it descends to the banks of the lower Zambezi River. After that the guide takes us to the Zimbabwean side where there are more amazing views of the falls. Here we can take some time and let the fascinating spectacle of nature affect us with all our senses. Head into town for dinner, then drive back to the lodge for the night.
3rd day After breakfast, a walk in Livingstone is possible, possibly a visit to the Livingstone Museum (National Museum of Archaeology, Science, History + Culture, memory of Dr. David Livingstone) about 30 minutes from the lodge. Or the waterfalls are seen from a different perspective. How about a flight over the majestic Victoria Falls, this grandiose experience will be unforgettable! If that is too much, you can relax in the lodge for a short time. In the afternoon around 3:00 p.m. our vehicle will be waiting at the lodge and we will go on a boat trip on the upper Zambezi, where beautiful animal observations are possible, for example elephants, hippos, crocodiles and many birds. Drinks and snacks are free during the boat trip. In the late evening it is then back to town for dinner and transfer back to the lodge for overnight stay.

4th day After breakfast we prepare for the flight home.
